Band Together NC President Danny Rosin Receives Superhero for Kids Award
Entrepreneur Honored with Award at Museum Fundraiser
RALEIGH, NC, June 24, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes. Some don capes and battle evil-doers, while others work tirelessly for the betterment of their communities. Danny Rosin, president and co-founder of Band Together NC, was honored by Marbles Kids Museum with one of its inaugural Superhero for Kids Awards on June 5 at a special Marbles Superheroes Ball fundraising gala benefitting the museum's Imagination Fund. The other award recipient was Laura Aiken, director of Advocates for Health in Action.
Band Together NC is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that uses music events to help raise funds and awareness for local charity partners. Since its inception in 2001, it has helped raise more than $1 million dollars for local nonprofits such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle, SAFEchild and the Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood.
Rosin is the CEO of Brand Fuel, a full-service promotional products agency, and helped create Band Together NC with other friends and entrepreneurs following the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. Band Together has grown from a simple fundraising idea to staging large-scale annual concert events and organizing monthly social gatherings to facilitate community goodwill and promote awareness of their efforts.
This year's Band Together NC Concert, held May 22 outside Lincoln Theatre in downtown Raleigh, helped raise $358,000 for StepUP Ministry, an interfaith nonprofit organization that works to help low-income and homeless people and their families to become self-sufficient.
"I'm truly honored to receive a Superhero for Kids Award. Helping children and raising our community's next generation of social entrepreneurs is extremely important to me and to Band Together," said Rosin. "Band Together has been fortunate to work with some excellent organizations. We are all very excited about finding our next charity partner."
Local nonprofits interested in applying to be Band Together NC's charity partner for 2011 can find out more information at http://www.bandtogethernc.org/involved/charity-application.aspx. Applications must be received no later than Aug. 31.
