Cambridge Who's Who Names Sue Ann Silagy Professional of the Year in Elementary Education

Sue Ann Silagy is a 25-year veteran of the field of education

CLEVELAND, OH, October 21, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Sue Ann Silagy, Kindergarten Teacher for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Elementary Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

A 25-year veteran of the field of education, Sue Ann Silagy has devoted most of her career to the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Noted for her expertise in academic development, she is charged with teaching and mentoring kindergarten students and attending to struggling students. Ms. Silagy enjoys watching children's eyes light up when they grasp a concept and see its relationship to the world around them, but for her, the most rewarding aspect of a career in teaching lies beyond the classroom. Dedicated to working behind the scenes to improve students' lives, she derives deep personal satisfaction from serving as a "mom" to many inner-city students who lack consistency at home.

Prior to joining Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Ms. Silagy taught at All Saints of Saint John Vianney School for two years and at St. Richard Elementary School for 11 years. She also lent her talents to Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P, where she worked for two years. Honored with inclusion into Who's Who Among America's Teachers, she attributes her success to being a genuine teacher, having faith and a sense of humor, and enjoying the support of her colleagues.

Ms. Silagy earned her master of science in education in 2001 from Marygrove College. In five years, she plans to complete her second master's degree and continue working as a primary, elementary division teacher.
