Frank H. Roder Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Education Administration

Frank H. Roder represents teachers and other school personnel through his leadership with the United School Employees of Pasco

TAMPA, FL, October 29, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Frank H. Roder, Instructional Vice President of United School Employees of Pasco, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Education Administration. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.

A respected advocate of the teaching profession, Frank H. Roder brings 35 years of experience to the United School Employees of Pasco, a membership organization that ensures professional development and job security for school personnel. He is currently serving in his eighth year as instructional vice president. In this capacity, Mr. Roder meets with union members from 82 schools, updating them on relevant local and national events and listening to their concerns and issues. A special education teacher and behavioral specialist by trade, he derives fulfillment from representing his peers and other education-related personnel. He is especially proud of the role he played in mobilizing school staff to protest Senate Bill 6 in Florida, which was eventually vetoed by Governor Charlie Crist. He attributes his success to his drive and passion for his profession.

Mr. Roder graduated magna cum laude from National-Louis University in 1997 with a master of arts in education. He also earned a bachelor of arts in special education and elementary education in 1975 from the University of South Florida. He presently serves as chairman of the Special Education Task Force and Special Education Caucus of the Florida Education Association, which honored him with a Human Rights Award in 2006. As he moves forward in his career, Mr. Roder plans to venture into consulting and publishing.

An active member of his community, Mr. Roder sits on the City of Tampa's Citizen Advisory Committee and Human Rights Board, functions as vice president of Southeast Seminole Heights, and volunteers regularly as a captain for Paint Your Heart Out, Tampa, through which he paints the homes of senior citizens.
