Frank Norman Hawkins Recognized for Over 40 Years of Experience in Education
Frank Norman Hawkins, formerly of Adolfo Camarillo High School, serves as a home-school teacher for students with behavioral problems
CAMARILLO, CA, November 09, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Frank Norman Hawkins, Retired Special Education Teacher from Adolfo Camarillo High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.
Prior to his formal retirement, professional educator Frank Norman Hawkins gained over 40 years of industry experience. During his tenure with Adolfo Camarillo High School, he taught special education classes including mathematics, science and health education. Never one to rest on his laurels, Mr. Hawkins currently works as a home-school teacher for students with behavioral problems. He also teaches one-on-one classes for nine students at Somis Academy.
In recognition of professional excellence, Mr. Hawkins was honored with a 42-year Education Service Award by Adolfo Camarillo High School. He is noted for his patient and kind nature and has recently become sought after for his written works. In fact, his thesis, "Effect of Food Reinforcement on Social and Non-Social Stimulus Response Rates" was recommended for publication. Mr. Hawkins also authored a short poem entitled "Cancer Patient's Poem and Prayer," which serves to act as a motivator for individuals diagnosed with cancer.
Mr. Hawkins holds a master of education from California Lutheran University and a master's degree in psychology from California State University, Sacramento. He also earned a bachelor of arts in psychology from California State University. In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Hawkins was actively involved in a humanitarian mission for the Latter-Day Saints Church. He and his wife participated in a comprehensive humanitarian mission in Asian Russia, helping children's schools, hospitals, and orphanages from 2003 to 2005. Looking to the future, he intends to continue teaching and remain active within his community.
