Genita J. Furgat Showcases Professional Brand through Cambridge Who's Who
Genita J. Furgat is a certified Orton-Gillingham tutor and specializes in dyslexic learning disabilities
LA GRANGE, IL, December 8, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Genita J. Furgat, Tutor at the Valley of Chicago Learning Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
At the Valley of Chicago Learning Center, Ms. Furgat tutors students two times per week in a one-on-one learning environment. She has worked in this capacity for four years and specializes in reading, spelling and adult learning disabilities. In addition to instructing students, Ms. Furgat develops lesson plans and presents skills with a phonogram. A certified Orton-Gillingham tutor, she is highly skilled in the field of dyslexia and was driven to enter her field by her interest in learning disabilities and reading difficulties.
In 1978, Ms. Furgat graduated from Northeastern Illinois University, where she received a Master of Arts in special education, completing an additional 40 credits. She is affiliated with the Illinois branch of The International Dyslexia Association. She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Ms. Furgat has been honored with a Grand Cross of Color Service Award from the International Order of Rainbows for Girls and an Order of the Arrow Service Award from the Boy Scouts of America. She has 32 years of professional experience and intends to explore avenues of private tutoring. She also hopes to establish a school for children with reading difficulties.
