Carlos Arredondo Reyes Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Social Services
Carlos Arredondo Reyes assists economically disadvantaged kids through New Horizons Family Center
GLENDALE, CA, August 3, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ --Carlos Arredondo Reyes, Teacher and Social Worker for New Horizons Family Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in social services.
A 30-year veteran of childcare and social work, Carlos Arredondo Reyes lends his talents to New Horizons Family Center, a non-profit organization that provides services to victims of family violence and sexual assault. He functions in a dual capacity as teacher and social worker. His responsibilities include organizing and conducting programs for economically disadvantaged youngsters in recreation, sports and academics, maintaining files, working with schools, teachers, therapists and parents, and preparing students for college by assisting them with applications and enrollment.
Himself a survivor of hardship, Mr. Reyes has come to the conclusion that there is nothing more important than family. He is personally proud to have kept his own family together; he and his wife have stayed married for 26 years, having children against all odds after she survived a serious car accident. He considers helping other families through their difficulties to be the most rewarding aspect of his career, and attributes his success to his love of children and his faith in God. Mr. Reyes looks forward to continuing his work at New Horizons Family Center.
Mr. Reyes received his bachelor of arts in business administration in 1973 from St. Mary's College. He is a member of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce, the Glendale Latino Association, and the Knights of Columbus. He gives generously to the children of the families he serves.
