Yvonne A. Meharg teaches art at Goliad Elementary/Intermediate School in Texas

    GOLIAD, TX, August 12, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Yvonne A. Meharg, M.Ed., Art Teacher at Goliad Elementary/Intermediate School of Goliad Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in elementary education.

Honored as one of the Top Ten Teachers by the state of Texas, Yvonne A. Meharg parlays her love of children into her position at Goliad Elementary/Intermediate School. She has over three decades of professional teaching experience and notes that she began teaching art in 1999. She now celebrates her 25th year with Goliad I.S.D., where she teaches art for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. She has also taught language arts and tutored children in grades four and five. Distinguished by her perseverant attitude, Ms. Meharg attributes the success she has enjoyed to her love for children and the support of her mentors.

Ms. Meharg holds a master of education from the University of Houston, in Victoria, earned in 1997, and a bachelor of science in elementary education from the University of Texas, at Pan American, earned in 1972. She is certified to teach grades K-5 and is professionally affiliated with the Astron Club, the Association of Texas Professional Educations, Who's Who Among American Teachers. Ms. Meharg is also involved with the Red Hat Society and St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Weesatche.
