Cheryl Renee Bryant-Gordon Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Children's Services

Cheryl Renee Bryant-Gordon took pride in representing the most vulnerable members of our society

EAST ORANGE, NJ, September 27, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Cheryl Renee Bryant-Gordon, retired Family Service Specialist II for the Division of Youth and Family Services, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Children's Services. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.

Cheryl Renee Bryant-Gordon devoted the last 15 years of her career to the service of abused and neglected children. An expert in the coordination of child welfare programs, she took pride in representing the most vulnerable members of our society. She functioned as a family service specialist for the Division of Youth and Family Services, and worked tirelessly to bring children home and find alternatives for those who cannot be reunited with their families. An experienced public speaker, she also spoke out against child abuse and advocated for abused and neglected children.

A product of Kean University, Ms. Bryant-Gordon holds a bachelor's degree in social work. She gives generously to The American National Red Cross. Once honored with the Outstanding Young American Woman Award, she attributes the success and longevity that she enjoyed in her career to her faith in God, her passion for her profession, and the support she received from her mentors, Arnethia Penn and Myrt Williams, her husband, her daughter and her parents, Ruby and Theodore. In her spare time, she loves to read books (her favorite is the Bible) and play musical instruments.
