Kelly Sorenson conducts dance, gymnastics and yoga classes for children aged between 18 months and 12 years
WHITE PLAINS, MD, September 24, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Kelly Sorenson, Owner and Operator of Power Tots, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in physical fitness instruction.
Prompted by the conviction that wellness should start at an early age, Kelly Sorenson assumed control of Power Tots in 2007. A Certified Karma Kids Yoga Teacher, she organizes and conducts dance, gymnastics and yoga classes for children aged between 18 months and 12 years. She has logged 200 hours in registered yoga teacher certification and uses her knowledge to provide fun, sustainable, high-quality exercise to children at schools, daycare facilities, parks or any venue where they can gather.
Emphatic that children can make exercise a part of their regular routine, Ms. Sorenson devises curricula that challenge children and implements them in a positive, non-competitive environment that allows kids to be proud of whatever level they reach. She works to instill in her students a healthy attitude towards fitness that she hopes they will carry into adolescence and throughout their lives. A pupil of Power Tots founder Kathi Donnelly, Ms. Sorenson was a competitive dance and gymnastics student for over nine years and takes pride in continuing the legacy of fitness that her mentor had started. She considers making a difference in kids' lives to be the most rewarding aspect of her work and attributes her success to her twin passions for fitness and children.
In addition to her yoga qualifications, Ms. Sorenson holds a bachelor of science in business management and psychology, earned in 2003 from East Carolina University, and certifications in CPR, First Aid and safety and risk management. She also holds a safety certification from USA Gymnastics and a certification in prenatal yoga. Her professional affiliations include the National Association for the Education of Young Children and USA Gymnastics. Ms. Sorenson aspires to franchise her business very soon.
