Philadelphia Graduate Chapter Provides Antidote For Flash Mob Violence

Kid Summit provides an annual day of educational, informational, and recreational activities focused on children in Philadelphia communities.

    PHILADELPHIA, PA, September 17, 2011 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- WHO: Members of the Philadelphia Graduate Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; engaged youth (ages 4-17) & adults from the West Oak Lane section of the city; other concerned citizens.

WHAT: The Chapter will sponsor its 20th annual Kid Summit 2011: Celebrating 20 Years of Nurturing a Generation. It's a free day of educational, informational, and recreational activities focused on children in the Philadelphia communities. Attendees will enjoy interactive workshops, health screenings, carnival games & entertainment, delicious food, and more. Confirmed workshop topics include conflict resolution, social networking etiquette, nutrition, physical fitness, and navigating college scholarships. Opening/Welcome/Greetings from Chapter President, Shante C. Dash - 10:15-10:30 a.m.
Workshops (concurrent) - 10:30-11:20 a.m.
Workshops (concurrent) - 11:30 a.m.-12:20 p.m.
Announcement re: Afternoon Activities* - 12:30-12:45 p.m.
Lunch - 12:45-1:30 p.m.
Carnival Games & Entertainment - 1-3:30 p.m.
Drill Team (Conestoga Angels): 1:15-1:35 p.m.
Stepping (Sigma Betas youth group): 1:50-2:10 p.m.
Duck E Duck: 2:20-2:40 p.m.
Stepping (Archonettes youth group): 2:50-3:30 p.m.
Stepping (Nu Sigma graduate chapter, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.): 3:10-3:30 p.m.
Gift Distribution & Dismissal - 3:30-4 p.m.

*Voter Registration and dental screenings will be available from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
*Face painting will take place from 1-2 p.m.
