Karen Blakeney-Granado Joins The Stanford Who's Who Community

Karen E. Blakeney-Granado has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her exceptional effort in the community.

    LOS ANGELES, CA, October 21, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Karen E. Blakeney-Granado has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of her exceptional effort in the community. As Senior Program Officer Best Start with First 5 LA, as well as throughout her brilliant professional career, Karen has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

First 5 LA is a unique child-advocacy organization created by California voters to invest tobacco tax revenues in programs for improving the lives of children in Los Angeles County, from prenatal through age 5. First 5 LA champions health, education and safety causes concerning young children and families.

Karen is in charge of the Lancaster, Palmdale, Pacoima and Panorama City Best Start communities. During her collegiate career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from California State University in Long Beach, Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mount St. Mary's College, and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Southern California. Karen was the recipient of a 2007 Community Service Award from The Help Group for Child Abuse Prevention Work. She also received an Achievement in Poetry Award from the International Society of Poets in 2005.
