Barbara Passman works to provide support for special needs children in order for them to function in the inclusion model of public school

JAMAICA PLAIN, MA, May 20, 2011 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Barbara Passman, a Special Education Teacher for Newton Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.

Over the past 25 years, Ms. Passman has taught students at all grade levels, including elementary, middle and high school, and at Newbury College for four years. Since 1995, she has worked to provide support for special needs children in order for them to function in the inclusion model of public school. She specializes in modifying curriculum for special needs students and attributes her success to her ability to communicate with children and understand them through their non-verbal language.

Ms. Passman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech and language from Emerson College and has taken post-graduate classes at Boston State College. She is presently tutoring students who are non-native English speakers, where she specializes in accent reduction and language proficiency. Ms. Passman aspires to publish her education materials, consult with facilitators in local public schools, and continue to make a difference in the lives of children.
