Gwendolyn J. Chenault, MS to be Featured in Exclusive Registry
Gwendolyn J. Chenault dedicates her career to aiding the community and improving the lives of
local residents and residents of eastern North Carolina
RALEIGH, NC, May 16, 2011 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Gwendolyn J. Chenault, Community Service Resource for Hope & Joy Advocate Mediation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in family services.
As a community service resource, Mrs. Chenault gathers information about the various needs of the diverse community and assesses which services meet these needs. She enjoys interfacing with a diverse set of clients and recommending community organizations to help individualized needs. She has spent eight wonderful years serving as an advocate and representative for individuals and families who are in need of a voice to support them concerning care services and human rights issues. She became involved in her profession because she wanted to make a positive impact in the lives of others, and ensure that people have the information they need to assist them in improving their lives. Mrs. Chenault previously worked in the adolescent psychiatric unit at Dorothea Dix State Hospital for five years as a health care technician. She attributes her success to her self-motivation, focus and desire to contribute to the diversity of people in the community.
Mrs. Chenault holds a master of human services in social and community services, earned at Capella University in 2009. She also holds a professional diploma in psychology and social work with highest honors conferred by the Stratford Career Institute in 2003, a bachelor of arts in behavioral science, earned at Shaw University in 1980 and an associate of arts in liberal arts from Highland Park College in 1974. She also holds lead teacher status through the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' Division of Child Development, the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, Faith Community Partnership, and Wake County Human Services. She is also credentialed as an early childhood educator by the State of North Carolina.
Mrs. Chenault is a member of the Southern Poverty Law Center, the North Carolina Foster and Adoptive Association, and the National Association of Social Workers. She supports the NAACP, Wake County Human Services, With Love from Jesus Ministries Community Resource Center, the Wake County public school system, WakeMed Health & Hospitals, serves as a Family Representative Geriatric case manager, and Wake County Area Services Crabtree Intensive Treatment for at risk Children.
Mrs. Chenault aims to gain more skills and insight in professional human service through workshops, professional development, online seminars, and interactive conferences. Hope & Joy Advocate Mediation is a nonprofit organization that provides family, employee and adoption advocate mediation services.
