BREMERTON, WA, June 30, 2011 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Stanley W. Hess, Museum Curator for Aurora Valentinetti Puppet Museum & Evergreen Children's Theatre, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in educational theater arts
.
An expert in art and puppetry, Mr. Hess is the founding curator of Aurora Valentinetti Puppet Museum, a division of Evergreen Children's Theatre. The nonprofit organization provides puppet history, education and entertainment in theater arts for children in Kitsap County and the West Sound, Wash. According to Mr. Hess, the offerings include "a full season of five or more plays each year, some productions with puppets and others with live actors." He notes that there is "an educational component through demonstrations and workshops led by the same professional actors of each performance," adding that the organization aims to promote the artistic community to children starting from a young age. For his vocational excellence, Mr. Hess was honored with three major awards to the Museum within the first 10 years of his tenure. He has been with the company now for 12 years
.
Daily, Mr. Hess is responsible for collection research, organizing and creating exhibitions in the museum, managing promotions and advertising, and overseeing the storage and labeling of exhibits and display furniture. Successful because of his inquiring mind and the support he received from his parents, he was prompted to enter his field through his background in art and anthropology. Mr. Hess earned a Master of Science in library sciences from Case Western Reserve University in 1976 and a Bachelor of Arts in general art, with a minor in anthropology, from the University of Washington in 1964. To remain current with industry trends, he is affiliated with Who's Who in American Art, Puppets of Puget Sound, UNIMA-USA, the Puppeteers of America, the Los Angeles Puppetry Guild and Pi Beta Mu.

Looking forward, Mr. Hess intends to help formulate realistic plans that will allow the museum to become a self-sustaining entity.
